Make Believe
(Lyrics: Wishart)
Where dragons fly
Where Immortals cry
The castles of your dreams
Nothing’s what it seems
Where Immortals cry
Where dragons fly
Nothing’s what it seems
In the castle of your dreams
In too deep, too deep
(You’re in too deep, too deep
In too deep
You’re in too deep . . .)
Silver swords cut through stone
Golden chords don’t let go
Ancient myths, mystic law
Nature’s kiss, true love’s cause
Make believe it real
Time grows colder
Time in endless reams
Comes closer, older
Where dragons fly
Where dragons fly

Cyber Spice
(Lyrics: Wishart)
It’s not the same as you or me
It runs on electricity
It’s not the same as you or me
It runs on electricity
Has no flesh or feeling
Understands your meaning
Sophisticated machinery
Changing the path of destiny
Runs at 60 miles an hour
As long as it is charged with power
It has the strength of 15 men
It can never be your friend
Got no name, got no heart
Got no name, got no heart
They’re all the same
All the same
All the same
Can’t tell them apart
Can’t tell them apart
Has no flesh or feeling
Understands your meaning
Got no name, got no heart
They’re all the same
Can’t tell them apart
They’re all the same
Can’t tell them apart
Got no heart . . .

Revenant
(Lyrics: Wishart)
Terrified, Mystified
A killing moon, come too soon
. . .
Identified, Petrified
The living dead, in my head
. . .
Searing wind, freezing fear
Everything, will disappear
Pay the toll
Humanoid
Sundered soul
Suck the void
Suck the void
Hell’s heroes, deathly cries
Hell’s heroes, deadly eyes
In deep disguise
Seek the light
Slayers of salvation
Death to your creation
Ancient dreads
Endless nights
Slayers of salvation
Death to your creation

Be Careful What You Wish
(Lyrics: Merryweather)
It’s so beautiful!
It’s incredible!
Mother. Mother? Mother respond?
Mother’s not talking.
Doesn’t seem to recognise my speech patterns. Mother respond
Yeh I’ve set it to run ‘til it’s recognised Yeah I’ve set it to run til it’s recognised
Doesn’t seem to recognise my speech patterns
It’s so beautiful Mother’s not talking
It’s incredible
All I ever wished for
I could fall right through
Go freestyle
It’s everything I wished for
I’m on a real high
I’ve just been standing here and gazing outside Moving at this speed
…I’m the only one out yet I’m the only one out
…their life support systems look normal Can’t take my eyes off all this
…For a few hours now Yeah for a few hours
…only certain stuff I can access Be a long time to be on my own
…long time to be on my own right? Am I alone
….Some hours have passed I think
….Can’t take my eyes off infinity
…moving at this speed.
…there’s been some shift in the cargo some shift in the cargo
…something’s happened all I ever wished for
…some stuff I don’t understand….. something’s happened
…no, but it’s expensive whatever it is!….. all I ever wished for
…the crew will sort it when they’re awake….. I could fall right through
…the Company didn’t get back to me…I’ll keep trying
I’ve just been standing here
…I’ll be unable to contact your base for a couple of months now….
Well something’s happened
…when we get back to this quadrant…. Stuff I don’t really understand
…thank you…signing off. I’ve just been standing here and gazing
Some hours have passed
…I’ve just been standing here and gazing outside
can’t take my eyes off all this beauty
…some hours have passed I think
…can’t take my eyes off infinity it’s so beautiful
…moving at this speed……am I alone some hours
moving at this speed
…It’s so beautiful…incredible!

Skyline Signal
(Lyrics: Falcone, with additions by Wishart)
Red lights pulse through shadow trees
Pitch-black eyes in last year’s leaves
“Snakelings tug, liquid coils,
from ground to limb
And all the spices hint: the day begins!"
White wings flow through buffalo clouds
Returning soft lake into salty wilds
“Dreaming how our moon has changed
Since we have strayed . . .”
Fingertips tap their code as they are
bathed in light
Light that sways, black and back to white
Fingertips tap . . . “a skyline signal”
Lights obey . . . “a skyline signal”
Metal stays, its poison strong
New fires close to no one's back
Skin-curled leaves, ripple below
Thinly-veined, slow motion sap
So eternal, this concern
Where chips of bone
And layers of cold
Slide up your stone
Fingertips tap . . . “a skyline signal”
Lights obey . . . “a skyline signal”
Accept what you can,
Change what you can’t
Ready each breath —
To kiss these lips
Before they go!

Demonkind
(Lyrics: Wishart)
Got my demon online
Chose the colour and design
Decided on a male
With fangs and a tail
Ordered him on Sunday
Got here on Monday
I didn't have to pay
He killed me straightaway
I got my demon online
People do it all the time
It's not against the Law
Their world is really poor
The Greens are the best
Better than the rest
I didn't have to pay
Cause he killed me straightaway
I got my demon online
There's a box you have to sign
It frees them when you die
I wish I'd wondered why
It was really kind of weird
The way they just appeared
At least I didn't have to pay
He killed me straightaway
Get your Demonkind
Don't be left behind
If you order one with wings
It comes with other things
Like ultraviolet scales
Supersonic wails
No one every pays
They eat you straightaway
Are a dollar and a dime
Click the buttons saying yes
They guarantee no mess
Such a clever war
Delivered to your door
You never have to pay
They eat you straightaway

Eternal Energy
(Lyrics: Wishart)
Now I am with them
From the mountains to the sea
Stretched along that silver line of Eternal Energy
Eternal Energy, Eternal Energy
Swept the air, for miles around
Days and nights, filled with sound
A graceful, soaring multitude
How beautifully, they flew
Spoke the seasons, cried their names
Times of unreason, have stopped their games
Stopped their games, stopped their games
Stopped their games, stop, stop, stop . . .
Go down, go down, go down . . .
Smooth curves like porcelain
Are round (round, round)
Are round (round, round)
Go down
No lies, Never lie, No lies, Never lie,
No lies, Never lie, Never lie, No lies
Wrapped in a cotton wool
Fiction future
That always paints a prettier picture
Wrapped in a cotton wool
Fiction future
It always paints
Here beneath the waves . . .

(Lyrics: Wishart)
There’s nothing there, there’s nothing there
No explanation
No indications
No congregation
No celebration
There’s nothing there, there’s nothing there
No concrete signs or illustrations
No magic finds or observations
Burnt out embers of a civilization
Gone to dust and decimation
There’s nothing there, nothing
No guiding lines or welcome light
No diamond mines or signs of might
No fear, no flight, no day, no night
Nothing here, nothing right

You fed his soul
So does that mean

He touched your heart
And scored a goal
He played his part

He touched your heart . . .
You need to know
It’s all a show
Case locked, unsolved
Tasted, not retold
No self control
He played the part
SpaceRocknRoll
He touched your heart . . .
You need to know
It’s all a show
Yet even so
You have to go . . .

Journey Past The Stars
(Lyrics: Wishart)
Journey past the stars
Jupiter and Mars
Through the Milky Way
To another sun’s rays
No one cries in space
No one likes the taste
Astronomers’ alliance
Gas giants’ science
Mag-lock remote control
Diving down the blackest hole
Humanoids on asteroids
No doubt it’s a white-out
Humanoids on asteroids
No doubt it’s a white-out
With no air or water
This could be slaughter
Belter’s breath
Monoxide death
No one cries in space
No one likes the taste
High yields in stellar fields
Violence in silence
High yields in stellar fields
Violence in silence
Oh the silver glare
Of that solar flare
Maybe we’re not alone
Could be we’ll find a home
No one cries in space
It’s not the time or the place

Reflections
(Lyrics: Wishart; Music: Davenport, Everling, Everling, Falcone, Fry, Herzberg, van den Elsen, Wishart)
This track is special for us. It has pushed us in a direction that we never expected to go.
It began as a piano improvisation, with lyrics and vocals added to each section.
We nearly released it in this haunting and addictive state. On reflection, we took further adventurous steps, adding male vocals and orchestral instruments, making it the track that you hear today. Our CD (disc 1) now starts and finishes acoustically with our trademark wilder space rocking in between, and where one chapter ends, another begins. We have a partner to this track, ready for a future SB & BW venture.
Bridget Wishart: Vocals, EWI (Bass Clarinet, Bass Flute, English Horn, Flute, Oboe, Harp)
Jean van den Elsen: Male Vocals
Sam Herzberg: Dumbek, Finger Cymbal, Djembe
Craig Fry: Violin
Don Falcone: Piano
Renate Everling: Double Bass
Detlev Everling: French Horn
Roger Davenport: Acoustic Guitar
Reflections
(Wishart)
(i) footprints
snowman footprints cross the sky
salt water diamonds never dry
oyster full, blue brimming eyes
Gaia wins the beauty prize
black rock beaches, glittering sand
pea green seaweed, fringing fans
sepia toned, sun scorched lands
it’s art, the heart understands
skydiving, slow-sliding,
high gliding, stone grinding,
white lightning, overriding plan
low-lying, light-guiding,
no timing, night flying
cold, crying, death defying plans
(ii) why
much too young to draw the line
it’s not yours, it’s mine you lied
I’m right, you’re wrong, she cried
you’re so, you‘re so unkind
I’m not sure why, I’m not sure why
I’m on your side, I’m on your side
I’m not sure why
I’ve hurt her pride
there’s no more time
it’s a crime
why?
enjoying being on my own
this tree can be my throne
wading in the water
saw a fish, I thought I’d caught her
(iii) brain and body
the only person you can be
is you, you, you
stuck here with this brain and body
like to say (I’d like to say)
I’m happy
I’d like to say
it’s my fantasy
though I know the show is not reality
the world is full of make believe
(iv) smile
there she sits, week after week
something’s not exactly right
something’s not exactly right
her hand is just as small as mine
and I’m the child, I’m the child
let’s give her all our money mummy
can’t you see she’ll play with me?
her grown up body’s just a disguise
she’s a child
she’s a child and her smile lights up
tonight
(v) promises
racing to be first
to climb the wall
running from an angry neighbour
crying that we didn’t do it
promising in future to behave
promising in future to behave
(vi) three’s a crowd
messing up, mixing up
and missing you
fitting up, fixing up
and feeling you
packing up and picking up and
pecking you
curling up, kicking up
and kissing you
trust is up, love is loud
rushing up
three’s a crowd, three’s a crowd
crush it up, square it round
brush it up
and dust it down, dust it down
dust it, dust it down
twisting all the words
my mother told you
laughing at my dreams
of ever after
pulling at the roots
of trusting you
grabbing at the fading
hints of laughter
(vii) said goodbye
drinking too much whisky
on my birthday
singing songs on the motorway
bringing friends who should stay
away, away
staying late to wait for you
that’s a date I’d hate to lose
staying overnight at a friend’s
staying here in a house I know
facing fear, no doubts I hope
staying by her side, as she died
closed her eyes, said goodbye

There’s something more to do
Always... you
There’s always a way out of here
Always a solution
There’s always a way to find
Always a conclusion
Always...
There’s always more to say
Always some destruction
There’s always an excuse
Always in construction
Always...
There’s always someone watching you
There’s always something you can do
There’s always someone watching you
There’s always something you can do
Always...

With my eye
I spy
Something beginning
With ‘Why’?
And I love
And I love
The way he smiles
And gives me hugs
When he says goodbye
PS I love you
I love you
I spy
A leaf in the sky
I spy
It’s the colour of
Your hair
You can see the sun and the moon
You can see
I’ll be home soon . . .
The sun and the moon
Be home soon . . .
(Now, now, now)
Sweet as a vase
You will die for life . . .
(I love you,
I love you)
Torn to shreds
Never been born
Torn to shreds
